Laufen World Meeting and ISH Preview
Laufen / February 15, 2023
At this year’s Laufen World Meeting and ISH preview, held in the heart of Laufen headquarters, the Forum, on February 15 and 16, Toan Nguyen presented LUA & LANI Design Story, telling the fascinating story of how his latest collection for Laufen came to life from concept design to development and the challenges of designing during pandemic.
“I wanted to create a form that is like a part of our collective memory. When you are designing, sometimes there is a tendency to exaggerate, to generate a sign, to make the product different”. All the pieces in the collection are based on the form of an oval, with slightly flexed extremities: a new geometric shape that required an extensive series of drawings and studies to obtain a linear result that is extremely logical and functional at the same time.
LUA is the result of a long process of research conducted by the designer and the company, to generate a complete collection composed of washstands, washbasins, sanitary fixtures, and bathtubs, as well as a line of taps and a collection, LANI, of cabinets and storage units in neutral colors.
Laufen World Meeting and ISH Preview
This February, Laufen invited its worldwide teams and a selection of contractors, architects, and professionals in the field for a two-days experience that included a private preview of the new collections to be showcased at ISH 2023 trade fair; and a guided tour through their Swiss production facility.
Laufen’s innovations were personally presented by the designers that developed the collections. An immersive experience to learn first-hand about the philosophy and design of the new products.
