Schiffini returns to Milan Design Week 2024 with a tribute to the historic model, the Cinqueterre kitchen. Designed by Vico Magistretti, the unforgettable Master of Italian design, the Cinqueterre still proves to be absolutely contemporary today, to the point that nothing has been changed in its aluminum extrusions that made it unique. Even for the handle, it was chosen to maintain its original section, merely adjusting its length to extend it seamlessly across the entire surface.
In addition to a modularity recalibrated to contemporary demands and adaptability to current technologies, the "Tribute to Cinqueterre by Vico Magistretti" kitchen introduces a different material dimension: alongside the iconic anodized aluminum finish of the model, natural stone is now introduced, particularly Portoro, a precious variety of black limestone from the western area of the Gulf of La Spezia, almost as a tribute to the brand's origins.
Completing the setup is a table by Jasper Morrison offered with a different finish surrounded by other accessories crafted by Magistretti.

Water appears like a flat square plate simply lying on your exhibition table and full of a green lake water. In reality, it is a very slightly curved surface (earth radius of 6.371 km) with inside concentric layers sinking progressively to reach the deep water and the darkness. The result viewed from the top is like an abstract painting with concentric shades of green. Looking under the table, the visitor will understand why the water looks so deep inside this plate.

The challenge of the STILT collection for District Eight comes first of all from the particular context: to design for an atypical Vietnamese company a collection of furniture that draws its inspiration from the culture of Vietnam, highlighting its tradition of craftsmanship while maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the manufacturing culture of contemporary European furniture.
The generous cushions, which offer extreme comfort thanks to a complex internal construction, are supported by a thin curved wooden shell, upholstered in fabric or leather, which seems weightless. The bearing structure is clearly distinct and consists of solid wooden logs with important sections like traditional Asian wooden constructions. However, the metal completes the construction, playing an essential role in stabilizing the structure while lightening the silhouette. As much as the wood is generous and round, as much the metal is its exact opposite. The logs with perfect verticality are indeed connected to each other thanks to a branched metal structure through recessed joints of apparent simplicity and immediate reading but made with cutlery precision and a mechanical design engineered to the smallest details.
STILT is the result of a quest for harmony in contrast.

The Dual Lounge is the fruit of a balanced combination of several character traits apparently in opposition.
Its monolithic and organic shape is divided in two by a clear-cut line: the upper part is enveloping and dedicated to the user comfort while the base is a subtle counterpoint of balance, tension and transparency.
With both parts customizable with any fabric, leather and three-dimensional knitted mesh (base only), Dual Lounge is suitable to either a classic tone-on-tone or a fancy sharp contrast matching.
The low back version stimulates a dynamic attitude and a collaborative discourse whereas the high back incites to rest and relaxation.

The challenge of the STILT collection for District Eight comes first of all from the particular context: to design for an atypical Vietnamese company a collection of furniture that draws its inspiration from the culture of Vietnam, highlighting its tradition of craftsmanship while maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the manufacturing culture of contemporary European furniture.
The generous cushions, which offer extreme comfort thanks to a complex internal construction, are supported by a thin curved wooden shell, upholstered in fabric or leather, which seems weightless. The bearing structure is clearly distinct and consists of solid wooden logs with important sections like traditional Asian wooden constructions. However, the metal completes the construction, playing an essential role in stabilizing the structure while lightening the silhouette. As much as the wood is generous and round, as much the metal is its exact opposite. The logs with perfect verticality are indeed connected to each other thanks to a branched metal structure through recessed joints of apparent simplicity and immediate reading but made with cutlery precision and a mechanical design engineered to the smallest details.

Today more than ever, the quality of individual space is an absolute priority, and the bathroom is undoubtedly the most intimate place in private or collective spaces.
Design is above all an approach, a close attention to the object, applied to the craftsmanship of excellence as well as to affordable serial production, like the LUA Collection. Relieved of any formal artifice, LUA is a bathroom collection whose simplicity of design is the result of targeted research and rigorous development.
The strength of LUA also lies in the breadth of its range and the consistency of each of its integral parts, as different as they are by their materials and industrial processes: ceramics, furniture, bathtubs, and faucets.

Schiffini returns to Milan Design Week 2024 with a tribute to the historic model, the Cinqueterre kitchen. Designed by Vico Magistretti, the unforgettable Master of Italian design, the Cinqueterre still proves to be absolutely contemporary today, to the point that nothing has been changed in its aluminum extrusions that made it unique. Even for the handle, it was chosen to maintain its original section, merely adjusting its length to extend it seamlessly across the entire surface. In addition to a modularity recalibrated to contemporary demands and adaptability to current technologies, the "Tribute to Cinqueterre by Vico Magistretti" kitchen introduces a different material dimension: alongside the iconic anodized aluminum finish of the model, natural stone is now introduced, particularly Portoro, a precious variety of black limestone from the western area of the Gulf of La Spezia, almost as a tribute to the brand's origins. Completing the setup is a table by Jasper Morrison offered with a different finish surrounded by other accessories crafted by Magistretti.

The challenge of the STILT collection for District Eight comes first of all from the particular context: to design for an atypical Vietnamese company a collection of furniture that draws its inspiration from the culture of Vietnam, highlighting its tradition of craftsmanship while maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the manufacturing culture of contemporary European furniture. The generous cushions, which offer extreme comfort thanks to a complex internal construction, are supported by a thin curved wooden shell, upholstered in fabric or leather, which seems weightless. The bearing structure is clearly distinct and consists of solid wooden logs with important sections like traditional Asian wooden constructions. However, the metal completes the construction, playing an essential role in stabilizing the structure while lightening the silhouette. As much as the wood is generous and round, as much the metal is its exact opposite. The logs with perfect verticality are indeed connected to each other thanks to a branched metal structure through recessed joints of apparent simplicity and immediate reading but made with cutlery precision and a mechanical design engineered to the smallest details.
